Yum Bake Shop

Yum Bake Shop is a bakery in downtown Millinocket with homemade sweet and savory treats, good for breakfast, lunch and dessert. Go in and check them out!

Maria and John opened the shop in 2022 located at 215 Penobscot Ave., next to the Millinocket Heritage Plaza in downtown Millinocket. Yum is in the same building as the Boreal Theater, and located directly on the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Scenic Byway. Plenty of street parking is available on Penobscot Avenue and Aroostook Avenue.

Yum Offers a variety of baked goods like pies, cakes, muffins, cookies, and more, along with quiche, soups, meat pie, salads, homemade lemonade, and coffee. Yum has a fairly consistent menu with occasional new items entering the mix that are announced on their Facebook page. Stop in to see the menu. For winter of 2025 they added a haddock fish chowder. All of their food is made in house with skill and pride and offered at pleasantly (some would say 'surprisingly') affordable prices. A typical family of four can get lunch here, eat it at the tables in the neighboring Heritage Plaza, walk back in to grab desert, and everyone would be satisfied.

John and Maria focus on making quality food at an affordable price, and enjoy doing it. The line to order often reaches out into the Boreal Theater entryway, and sometimes outside into the Plaza, but Maria keeps things moving well. Be ready to order! If you want to see what's on the menu stop in at the shop Thursdays and Fridays 9-4 and Saturdays 9-3, year-round.
