History of the House:

The Tingley House in Island Falls was built in approximately 1909 as a home for a local lumber mill boss, however the original owner ended up leaving the home and the property sat empty for an extended period of time. Eventually, the Tingley family, also bosses at the local lumber mill, purchased the home and lived there unitl the mid-1980s. Later, a bank acquired the property where the house was initially located, and the home was subsequently given to and moved by the Island Falls Historical Society. Today, the Tingley House is almost completely restored with new wallpaper, furnishings, old photographs, and artifacts.
