Shin Pond Village is a 100-acre family owned and operated recreational resort that is nestled in the heart of the  Katahdin Region. They offer 7 campsites (4 of which are on the brook), 25 water/electric RV sites, 8 housekeeping cottages, 3 guest suites, and also 2 waterfront cottages on Lower Shin Pond. The main building offers a well stocked general store with a variety of outdoor gear, a gift shop with a wonderful variety of Maine made gifts and crafts, and a popular restaurant and bar. Regular and non-ethanol gas is available. WIFI and ATM on site. These conveniences are open 7:30 am-8 pm or 9 pm (depending on the season).

The village serves as a convenient base camp for outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore the Katahdin region. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, snowmobiling, ATVing, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing. Hikes near by include two waterfalls and Mount Chase. The public beach on Lower Shin Pond is just down the road and canoe, kayak, and paddle board rentals are available.

They are next door to Mt Chase Lodge who hosts a wonderful system of public trails for passive recreation including mountain biking, walking, snowshoeing, and x-country skiing. Shin Pond Village and Mt Chase Lodge are connect by the trail system.
