Pine Grove Campground and Cottages

Pine Grove Campground and Cottages is a popular lodging and camping destination located in the heart of the Katahdin region. It is directly on the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Scenic Byway. The campground is 19 riverfront acres on the East Branch of the Penobscot River. It offers 43 sites, 19 seasonal sites, and 3 fully equipped cottages, including sites for large RVs.

Pine Grove Campground and Cottages is situated amidst the natural beauty of the Maine North Woods, providing visitors with a peaceful and scenic retreat. Pine Grove is conveniently located near outdoor recreational attractions such as Baxter State Park, the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument, and nearby lakes, the East Branch of the Penobscot River, and hiking trails. Mountain biking and hiking at the world class Penobscot River Trails is 7 miles North.

With 19 riverfront acres with over 43 sites in the heart of the Northern Maine Woods in a private wooded area, their campground is the ideal base of exploration for the many exciting natural treasures in northern Maine.

The campground offers a range of lodging options to suit different preferences and group sizes, including campsites for tents and RVs, as well as cozy cottages or cabins for those seeking a more comfortable and private accommodation. The accommodations equipped with amenities such as picnic tables, fire pits, and access to restrooms and showers that are cleaned twice per day.

Large RVs are welcome. There is a 50 amp full hookup site and two pull-through sites that handle big rigs, up to a 60 foot trailer with a car attached, or 45 foot motorhomes.

Pine Grove Campground and Cottages provides visitors with opportunities for a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and wildlife viewing. The campground has direct access to nearby trails, waterways, or recreational areas, making it easy for guests to explore the surrounding wilderness.

Pine Grove fosters a sense of community among guests, providing opportunities for socializing and making new friends. The owners are long-time RV travelers themselves.

The campground has a playground with a swing set and sandbox, bikes to borrow, a basketball hoop, the Little Cubs Den game room with foosball and toys, and a 24 hour TV lounge with DVDs, games, and a coffee machine for the grownups.

Whether you want to "rough it" in one of our Tent sites or enjoy our RV hookups. Big rigs are welcome with four sites that will accommodate 45 ft motorhomes. They also have 3 fully equipped cottages with loft sleeping and 2 beautiful rental RVs. All of their rentals have everything you need.  Enjoy camping on the banks of the East Branch of the Penobscot River.

There is free Canoeing and Kayaking, excellent smallmouth bass fishing, and a free shuttle so you can float laps on a tube on the East Branch of the Penobscot River.

Group rates available. They offer a get-away that is just what you've been looking for. Remote enough to be a welcome break from urban life, but close enough to enjoy any weekend. This easily makes their pristine property a family tradition. Easy access off I95 exit 244 turn left onto route 157 go .5 miles turn right at the blinking light onto route 11 go 4 miles and we're on the left or GPS at 822 Grindstone Rd Medway, ME, directly on the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Scenic Byway. They are a rustic campground that all can enjoy. Pets are welcome.
