Medway, Maine’s 150th Anniversary

Celebrate Medway, Maine’s 150th Anniversary – August 8–17, 2025. In 2025, the town of Medway, Maine, proudly celebrates 150 years since its incorporation in 1875 with a special 10-day community event filled with history, music, food, and family fun. Known as the gateway to the Katahdin region, Medway’s 150th Anniversary Celebration will honor the town’s rich logging and river-driving heritage while showcasing the strong community spirit that continues to thrive today.

From August 8 to 17, 2025, residents and visitors can enjoy an exciting lineup of events, including a Grand Parade, live concerts, craft and vendor fairs, and historic exhibits that highlight Medway’s past and present. Families can look forward to kids’ activities, community picnics, and interactive displays at local landmarks. The celebration will also feature delicious local food, a “Through the Years” photo and storytelling exhibit, and a spectacular fireworks show to cap off the festivities. Fireworks are scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025, at 9:00 p.m. (rain date: Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 9:00 p.m.).

Organized by the Medway 150th Anniversary Committee, the event invites everyone to come together to celebrate the town’s history, culture, and community pride. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or visiting for the first time, Medway’s 150th offers a perfect summer experience in the heart of Maine.

Join us from August 8–17, 2025, and be part of Medway’s milestone year! Most of the events will take place at the Medway Recreation Complex.
