Katahdin Adventure Co. is a guide service offering both guided and unguided trips for hiking, backpacking, canoeing, and fly fishing, throughout the Katahdin and 100 Mile Wilderness Area. They are located at the Appalachian Trail Hostel & Outfitter at 33 Penobscot Avenue in Millinocket.

While Katahdin Adventure Co. offer single day outings, their specialty is planning and executing successful multi-day trips into the Maine Wilderness. They handle the planning, logistics, transportation, and lodging. All you have to do is arrive.

At their on-site Outfitters, they sell a variety of the latest hiking & backpacking gear, camping supplies, and backpacking foods. They also have rental gear and are able to fully outfit you with a lightweight backpacking kit for your wilderness adventure.

Their adventure began in 2017, when they met while thru-hiking the 2190 mile Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. After completing the trail, they were offered a seasonal position at a hostel in Maine, then known as the Appalachian Trail Lodge. During their time at the hostel, they fell in love with Maine and the services the hostel provided to visitors in the region. This led them to spend the following three years working toward ownership. In 2022, they purchased the hostel and rebranded as Appalachian Trail Hostel & Outfitters and started offering guided trips through the Katahdin Adventure Company.
