Description
Welcome to the Island Falls Summer Fishing Derby! Participants in the annual summer fishing derby can choose spots on Pleasant Pond, Mattawamkeag Lake, or the west branch of the Mattawamkeag River from the lake to the Route 2 bridge in town. Fish must be taken by rod and reel either on land or from a boat, all according to the Maine Fisheries and Wildlife rules. Donated fish from the derby will be expertly prepared for a free, open-to-the public community fish fry starting at 5:00 pm on the day of the event. This is a family-friendly-fun event for all!
